Wild child by Stephanie Thy

With some photographers you only need to see one picture to know you’ve found an incredible talent. Fashion shooter Stephanie Thy is one of them.

Stephanie is a photographer from the South East suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. She decided to study Criminology at university after, in her own words, “watching too many episodes of NCIS and Criminal Minds.” But thankfully for us, after her first year Stephanie knew that field wasn't for her. “I taught myself how to use a camera and started to shoot portraits of my friends. Soon friends became friends of friends, who became girls on the streets, who became models and shortly after, I had makeup artists and hair stylists and wardrobe stylists joining me on creating a fashion portrait,” says Stephanie.

“Fashion photography became a creative outlet for me to stay sane in my university days. I graduated at the end of last year with a degree in Criminology but photography is what I want to do.”

And this particular shoot? “This series tells a story of a child of the wild, always living and embracing the beauty of Mother Nature.” That sounds good to us and the photos are certainly beautiful. Keep your eyes peeled for more great work from Stephanie coming to POV in the future.
